Whether I'm designing a logo, working with the data behind an infographic or sketching an image for a piece of social media I will reach for the same tool every time. The humble pencil. It gives me freedom to explore ideas quickly and to make lots of mistakes - it feels like I'm emptying my head onto the page. Most of the time clients never see these sketches but, more recently I've been using drawing as a way to communicate stories about the work we do, the clients we have and how it feels to be working in the design industry. And they seem to have resonated with people in ways I had not anticipated.
